It’s been a Reasonably busy week on Netflix UK with the addition of 38 new titles to the library. There’s a great selection of new Originals that everyone can enjoy. Here’s what’s new on Netflix UK this week for August 21st, 2020. The Good Place season 4 – Picture: NBC The fourth and final season of The Good Place has now aired, which means most regions around the world have now seen the series drop onto Netflix. The United States is the final region to get season four of The Good Place on Netflix, where it is due to arrive in September 2020! NBC struck gold with the afterlife comedy-drama and we’ll be sad to say our goodbyes to wonderful series....

On My Block season 3 – Picture: Netflix We have learned that On My Block will be returning for a fourth season at Netflix. The teen comedy-drama series is created by Lauren Iungerich, Eddie Gonzalez, and Jeremy Haft. This source has previously informed us about the renewal orders of Ozark, Fate; The Winx Club, and Warrior Nun. A day after the article was published, Netflix officially confirmed that Ozark had been renewed, we expect Netflix to announce the early renewal for Warrior Nun in due course....

In an effort to boost its output of original movies, Netflix is teaming up with renowned filmmaker Wes Anderson to produce The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar, an adaptation of Ronald Dahl’s short story collection of the same name. The movie is set to have a star-studded cast with Benedict Cumberbatch, Ben Kingsley, Ralph Fiennes and Dev Patel already on board. The movie is written and will be directed by seven-time Oscar nominee Wes Anderson himself, who just recently released The French Dispatch....

Two Distant Strangers – Picture: Netflix Accusations of plagiarism surrounding the Oscar-winning Netflix short Two Distant Strangers have been leveled from the creator of a similar YouTube short from 2016. Two Distant Strangers is a Netflix short that Netflix picked up in March 2021 for release in April 2021 (shortly before the Oscars but after its initial Oscar nomination). It was originally released in November 2020. The short found on Netflix is directed by Travon Free and Martin Desmond Roe....

Netflix which is building a slate of content centered around the world of K-pop and over the summer picked up the rights to Maurene Goo’s young adult novel Somewhere Only We Know. That is one of the two K-Dramas developed by Goo at Netflix already, with the first being I Believe In A Thing Called Love that also has been announced very recently. Described as Roman Holiday meets Before Sunrise, the story follows a massive K-pop star and a tabloid photographer as they wander through the neon streets of Hong Kong, finding both adventure and love....
